When Ratdog returned to Buckeye Lake to play Hookahville he also allowed a younger generation to see the beauty and harmony that Deadheads brought to the Grateful Dead. This is definately why I loved the Grateful Dead and Ekoostik Hookah. EH played alot of shows in Athens right after Jerry's death at the Dugout which is now the Blue Gator. I suppose Ekoostik Hookah filled a void that was left with Captain Trip's return. At any extent, very glad to see the two crowds unite at this show.

Where do I start? I drove to the show in a crappy VW Vanagon with my 2 best friends in the world. We get 1/2 mile from the show, after driving 250 miles and of course, the van breaks down. Thanks to the trusty work of my companion, we managed to make it to the show. What a freaking party!! The best time of my life, Bobby and Hookah (with Ed's witty tales)! I will never forget it, not in a million years.

this is surely one of the best sounding shows on the sight! I fail to understand the lack of downloads of this show being that Bob Wier joins them onstage for I believe the first time ever! As far as 98 and 99 being their best years ever I can't say I disagree although I do think that the best is yet to come and maybe 2008 will be their best year ever! They are a way more atractive act now that Mullins is back and HOOKAH is second to no band except, maybe,... The Grateful Dead...PEACE

By far the best sounding Hookah show on this site. Also my favorite Hookah show ever. I was 13 and next to the soundboard all weekend. My Dad taped and I wish his recording sounded this good. The way this show sounds from the archive is the way I remember shows sounding after the fact. Even though there is something in the background of Ecstasy I love this show more then any of them. Ratdog and Hookah... wow... and Sweeny's "Jerry" sounding solo during Sugar Mag is so sweet. 1998 and 1999 were ekoostik hookah's best years. I wish there were more sound boards from these years. "But that would be like trying to see dry while dodgeing drops of rain". Hope More shows turn up.

My first Hookahville (but not the last)this was. Very smoky and hot in the lowlands--why someone would have a campfire during the day with such heat baffles the mind---some primordial affinity to burn, burn burn I suppose.
Great sound from the SB really captures the acoustic guitar well, crispy crispy crispy.
Always glad to see Ratdog and especially cool to have Bobby and Co. sit in with EH (GD influence sets well up, down and in between). Thanks for setting this up for download. Good Karma for you.

This was my very first ekoostik hookah show. It was magical and this recording really brings out the best of this show. Great songs and very well played set. The Sugar Magnolia is great fun....I was hooked for life after witnessing this show. All fans of hookah or Ratdog should download this show.
